In modern America, there are very few jobs that men and women can do exclusively.  These days any job that is good enough for a man is also good enough for a woman, and vice versa. However, if you are a woman and you are looking into working from home, this article offers you three solid home business ideas for women.

1 – A home daycare or babysitting service

Even nowadays, people still feel more comfortable leaving their children with women more than they do with men. The reasons for this are rather sad, and hopefully something that we will eliminate in the near future. Nevertheless, as a woman you will be able to use this to your advantage. If you are willing to get the license, insurance and permission to run a day care from your home, or a baby-sitting service from your home, then it will not take a massive amount of investment for you to be able to earn an income looking after children of other people.

One of the hardest parts is convincing people that you are a careful and diligent childcare expert. Many people are unwilling to leave their children with people who are irresponsible or negligent. Therefore, marketing is going to be one of your biggest problems, followed by ensuring the safety and security of the children in your care. As it may only take one unfortunate incident for your childcare service to be suddenly discontinued, your reputation in this area is key to your success.

It may also be a good idea to gain a few qualifications in childcare yourself; so that you can do your job better, and so that you can reassure the parents who are leaving a child in your care. There may also be stipulations in your laws of your state saying that you must have qualifications in order to handle having children under your care within your home. You will certainly need permission in order to turn your home into a business concern. You will also need things such as public liability insurance just in case anybody is harmed whilst you are conducting your business.

2 – Practice a consultancy business based upon your qualifications

If you have qualifications in any area at all, then it may be a good idea to put them to use within your home business. This is actually a lot easier than it seems in many cases. For example, you may have qualifications in accountancy, and you will find that being a freelance accountant and working from a home office is actually very easy within the accountancy field. The same is true for graphic designers and web designers, who are able to work from home with consummate ease. If you have these qualifications (or ones similar to these), you should consider using them for your home business.

If you do not have qualifications that are applicable to a home business, there is still hope for you yet. If you like, you can set up a home consultancy business and become a freelance consultant. If you happen to be very good at/in your area/discipline, then becoming a consultant should not be a difficult task. All you need to do it slowly build your credibility over time through servicing people with your consultancy skills. Over time you will build up a reputation as an expert and will be able to charge prices that you can probably live on. As you learn the trade, you will also learn where the best places are to pick up new customers, and will learn how to market yourself in an effective manner.

3 – Write several blogs and monetize them

Blogging is not a way to make a lot of money. There are few (if any) blogs that make more than a few dollars every month. That is one reason why you need to set up several blogs. If you are working from home then you should have the time to update them weekly. You will also have the time to market and promote them over the Internet. Marketing and promoting your blogs online should not be an expensive endeavor, and if you search online, you will find plenty of ways to advertise your blog without paying a penny.

You need to try various means of monetizing your blogs. You can start to with pay-per-click (PPC) adverts and work up to pay-per-action (CPA/PPA) adverts. The pay-per-action adverts will often bring you a lot more money than pay-per-click adverts will. In addition, if you have a number of popular blogs, you may be able to sign them up for the pay-per-action affiliate programs that sell high-end products. The ones that sell high-end products are also the ones who pay the most with their cost pay-per-action affiliate adverts.

If you have trouble making money with affiliate adverts then you can always try to find a sponsor for your blog, or try to strike deals with companies so that they pay to rent advertising space on your blog.
